The Hayter Group started in 1952 as a plumbing and heating business in Alvinston, Ontario. Over more than seven decades it grew into one of Southwestern Ontario's most established geothermal, solar, and home-comfort contractors, and in 2025 it joined the Jayden's Mechanical family.
From a plumbing and heating shop to a full green-energy contractor.
Hayter Plumbing & Heating Ltd. began in 1952, serving the farms and homes around Alvinston with plumbing and heating work. As the energy landscape shifted, the company moved early into geothermal and solar, building the ground-source expertise that became its signature. The business was carried forward by the Hayter family, with Jim Hayter taking full ownership in 1981 and growing it into a regional name.
Today the company designs and installs geothermal, solar, heating and cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems across Lambton, Middlesex, Huron, and the surrounding counties, all from the same 3277 Nauvoo Rd location in Alvinston. In 2025 it became part of the Jayden's Mechanical family, bringing more crew, more equipment brands, and more depth behind the same standard of work.

Giving back, for the long run
A family business that has spent 74 years in one region tends to put down roots. The Hayter Group runs a long-standing quarterly Giving Back program that supports local community organizations, along with an annual scholarship for area students.
That community commitment carries on under the Jayden's Mechanical family, alongside the same licensed crews and the same Alvinston shop.
